Senior designers, Nancy Galasso and Diane Karmen along with Thom Bellucci, Senior Director for Lillian August Licensing, approached the design of the Living Room with the question of how the space would be used. They envisioned it as a sanctuary where one could unwind with friends over drinks. From there, they started on a design that is both elegant and comfortable and above all, inviting.
The Living Room design has an organic, textural quality that is inspired by the local Hamptons landscape. Earthy, natural textures abound, from the Belgian linen upholstery in the sofa to the striking tree root coffee table. To add depth and character to the room, the Lillian August designers went for an eclectic, collected feel – with glamorous accents like gold accessories and a pops of orange in the lacquer bar and throw pillows. These dramatic pieces are grounded by a beautiful antique rug that has a faded patina, as if it were bleached by years of sun exposure. The mix of old and new, organic and gilded, is the signature style for this room that feels collected and authentic.

The response to the Lillian August living room has been enthusiastic. The Southampton Press dubbed the space “Beach Glam” and the twitterverse loved the orange accents that epitomize the Living Room. It seems that the people agree with Dan Weiss, President and CEO of Lillian August, who told the Daily News that every room should have a “punch color.”
